Home - Journeys - Thailand 2023, November, December - Saturday, November 18, 2023
Last night we
slept well with the family in
Lat Krabang.
We get up on time and drink coffee.
The plan for today is simple, or so we thought.
Today, very early, Moue and the children are going on a train trip over a dam, the
Pa Sak Jolasid Dam.
And Kaeng is going to his parents in Nakhon Sawan today.
We were going to take niece Naam Waan to her school in Suphanburi and spend the night in
that city.
But for some reason that doesn't happen, Naam Waan is taken to the bus station by Kaeng and
she continues on the bus.
Kaeng tells Pia about the Loi Kratong festival in Nakhon Sawan and Pia wants to go there,
with or without Moue and the children.
Tom agrees with that, but there must be a place to sleep in a hotel in Nakhon Sawan.
And that isn't there or we can't find it, all the hotels we looked at via
Google Maps are full, there are only rooms available from the following weekend.
And Kaeng also tells us that the weather in the south of Thailand is currently very bad,
with heavy rain every day, and roads have been washed away.
We planned to go to Ao Nang in Krabi shortly after arriving, Krabi is not a good place to
go at the moment.
So we stay in Bangkok.
Around one o'clock we go for noodles at
restaurant on the corner of Soi 7.
Of course we also have a chat there because we have been coming here for years.
And then we walk to a tool shop a little further away where Pia buys pruning shears and
ant powder.
There too, there is extensive discussion about all kinds of things.
In the afternoon, cleaning takes place again and an attempt is made to chase away ants. Pia smears the table and chair legs with something greasy, Tom sprinkles ant powder.
In the evening we walk along Thanon Chalung Krung looking for a place to eat something.
There are some restaurants, we had already seen that, but it is nowhere really busy.
We sit down at ลาบละมุน (Lablamoon), a restaurant with mainly Isaan dishes.
There we eat something and drink something.
The food is tasty but quite spicy.
During dinner, Moue calls and asks where we are, she just got home from the train ride.
When we get home, Moue and the children are already asleep.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
